Tongan Methodist Choir

Tongan Methodist Choir

In 2001, 80% of Tongans were living in Auckland. Increasingly, they moved from central to south Auckland. A few continued to travel back to the centre, however, to take sing with the Dominion Road Tongan Methodist Choir. In this photograph, taken in June 2003, the 65-strong choir, backed by a 35-piece orchestra, practises for a concert in Tonga.
