Hue

This hue (gourd container) is enclosed in beautiful weaving. Hue contained preserved birds or other highly valued foods such as preserved kiore (Pacific rat). This type of container was a precious gift and in some cases would be gifted as part of an invitation to other tribes to become allies during a war.
