Artist John Reynolds mined Harry's Orsman's Dictionary of New Zealand English for his 2007 artwork 'Looking west, late afternoon, low water', which is named after a poem by Allen Curnow. The piece comprises 1,175 small canvases inscribed with Māori words recorded in the dictionary.
