Leeward ecoregion

Leeward ecoregion

The leeward ecoregion stretches along the country’s eastern coasts. Although drier than most other ecoregions, it still gets a reasonable amount of rain. But along with Central Otago, it is the most drought-prone of the different ecoregions.
