Scots-born as a percentage of UK immigrants to New Zealand,    1840–1945

In the 19th century, Scots formed about 10% of the total population of the United Kingdom, but consistently more than 20% of United Kingdom immigrants to New Zealand. There was, therefore, a greater proportion of people of Scottish heritage in New Zealand than in the United Kingdom .
