Mataura mill label

Mataura mill label

This 1890s packaging label from the Mataura Falls Paper Mill Company shows the mill in the foreground, backed by the Mataura River and the freezing works. It was a profitable period of the company’s existence; the label features the new buildings and weir (to the right of the river) constructed between 1892 and 1894.
