‘The spirit of the troops is excellent’

In meeting their counterparts from other countries New Zealand soldiers developed a sense of themselves. Their ‘NZ’ badges (which gave them the nickname ‘Enzedders’), their lemon-squeezer hats and their propensity for enjoying alcohol were some of the characteristics seen by this cartoonist, H. P. Watson, who was a fellow soldier.
