Story: Coastal erosion
Southerly storms often batter Wellington’s coast. In March 1972, waves poured over the sea wall and onto Moa Pt Road, forcing this man (far right) to abandon his truck. Much coastal erosion is caused by large storm waves over very short periods of time.
