Drive-through maternity

In 2007 the Capital and Coast District Health Board in Wellington offered mothers supermarket vouchers if they left hospital quickly after giving birth. Though this scheme did not apply to first-time mothers or those who had experienced complications, it received a lot of criticism from the general public and health professionals and was soon withdrawn.
