‘The death of leasehold’

In 1911 the Reform Party, led by William Massey (pictured) campaigned successfully against leasehold. When his government took office it offered tenants the right to purchase Crown leasehold property. This cartoon by Trevor Lloyd appeared in the New Zealand Herald.
