Midhirst Co-operative Dairy Company, about 1900

By the turn of the 20th century the move to cooperative dairy companies had gained considerable momentum throughout the country. These farmers are bringing their cream to the Midhirst Co-operative Dairy Company, as they would each day. Midhirst, at the foot of Mt Taranaki (Egmont), is in the heart of Taranaki dairy country.
