Kōrero: Gender inequalities

The working world (1 o 2)

The working world

For men, working life meant going out into the world. The men in this group standing outside the Otorohanga Times newspaper office in about 1900 did a variety of jobs. For a businessman, newspaper editor, printer or cart driver, getting out and about was just part of the job. Women were largely excluded from this male world.
