Jim Hickey talks to Geoff Rennison from the Department of Conservation at Waikoropupū Springs (often just called Pupu Springs) in 2002 near Tākaka. Around 14 cubic metres of crystal-clear water issues from the springs per second on average, making them the largest in New Zealand. Since 2006 recreational diving and swimming have been banned at the springs.
