Upgrading Christ Church, Invercargill

Upgrading Christ Church, Invercargill

Area Ringiao, a member of Invercargill’s Christ Church congregation, watches her baby niece as a Historic Places Trust speaker outlines plans for a major upgrade of the church. A small Cook Islands community formed in Southland when families moved there to take up jobs in freezing works. The church was given to them by the Anglican Church in November 1993, and the renovations were made in 1998.
