Talking to a truant

Talking to a truant

Youth aid officer Jeff Mosaati (left) and Panmure community constable Janet Briggs talk to an Auckland student who is running late for school. They were taking part in a blitz on truancy in 2009. Police youth aid officers said that during the operation they heard every excuse under the sun, and often had to deal with insolence from parents as well as children.
