Children take part in an art therapy session organised by Rainbow Place, the Waikato Hospice service for children either suffering from a life-threatening condition, or affected by the serious illness or death of a family member. These children are making Christmas decorations and writing messages on them for family members who are sick or who have died. Palliative care for children with life-threatening conditions is a specialist aspect of hospice work. As well as organising art, crafts, drama and storytelling workshops, Rainbow Place offered group, family and individual counselling and therapy.
