Scenic rug

Scenic rug

This woollen floor rug, made in 1957, was the first in the Riccarton scenic rug series, manufactured by Feltex Carpets from 1957 to 1966. Brendan Hartwell designed this rug, which depicts a map of New Zealand. The series was aimed at the tourist market, but is now popular with New Zealand collectors.
