Katherine Mansfield's Picton (1st of 2)

Katherine Mansfield's Picton

Katherine Mansfield’s paternal grandparents lived in Picton and she made frequent sea journeys to the town from Wellington as a young girl. Her story ‘The voyage’ draws on those experiences, including arrival at a Picton which would not have looked so different from the view presented in this 1912 painting.
