Story: Nelson region

Dun Mountain bus timetable

The Dun Mountain bus was a horse-drawn tram that ran on New Zealand’s first railway line. The line extended from the port of Nelson up to Dun Mountain behind the city, where a mine briefly operated in the 1860s. The mine didn’t pay, but the section of rail from the port to Nelson city continued to be used until 1909. This timetable is from 1867.
