Video: Toss Woollaston describes his paintings

In this clip from a Kaleidoscope television programme of 1987, Toss Woollaston describes how one of his paintings takes its own form, rather than being an accurate portrayal of the landscape. The landscape in this case is the hills around Nelson and Motueka, a subject which attracted him for many years. The colours he uses – ochres and blues – were characteristic of much of his work.
