Shearwater lodge

Shearwater lodge

This luxury lodge in the Seaward Kaikōura Range caters to paying clients who walk a track on private land. Popular among tourists, these track and hut systems sprang up from the 1990s. There are similar walks on Banks Peninsula, and the Tora coastal walk on the Wairarapa coastline is another favourite.
