Karapoti Classic

Karapoti Classic

Competitors carry their bikes at the beginning of the 2007 Karapoti Classi mountain-bike race. Held on the first Saturday in March, the event has been held annually since 1986, making it the longest-running mountain-biking event in the Southern Hemisphere. It runs through 50 kilometres of native bush, rivers and up and down steep hills in the Akatarawa ranges near Upper Hutt.
