Benson and Hedges 500, Pukekohe

A long-distance race for production saloon cars, the Benson and Hedges 500-mile (later 1,000-kilometre) race was held annually at Pukekohe from 1968. As shown in this photo of the starting line-up, New Zealand-assembled Valiant Chargers dominated the competition during the 1970s.
