Shaolin kempo weapon training, 2003

At the age of 14 Ben Chesters held a black belt, the highest grading, in the martial art of shaolin kempo. He is seen here practising with a weapon at Long Bay on Auckland's North Shore in 2003. Ben studied shaolin kempo at a centre founded by veteran New Zealand martial arts instructor Bob Gemmell.
