Beatrice Faumuina, Manchester, 2002

Discus thrower Beatrice Faumuina (‘Queen Bea’) came to prominence when she won silver at the 1994 Commonwealth Games in Victoria, British Columbia. She went on to win gold at the 1998 Kuala Lumpur and 2002 Manchester games. Faumuina also represented New Zealand at the 1996, 2000, 2004 and 2008 Olympics.
