Mental health community organisations: Hearing Voices

Aucklander Debra Lampshire suffers from one of the most common symptoms of psychosis – hearing voices inside her head. She has learned to live with her voices and in 2007 she set up Hearing Voices Network Aotearoa, a network to help others with her condition. Its vision is: 'That people who hear voices are accepted, valued and treated with equal dignity as contributing members of our community.'
