Kōrero: Muldoon, Robert David

New MP

Clad in white tie and tails, new National Party members of Parliament Robert Muldoon and H. J. (Bert) Walker walk the corridors of power in 1961. As a new MP, Muldoon joined with Duncan MacIntyre and Peter Gordon in criticising senior National ministers, a practice that led to the threesome being described as ‘the Young Turks’.
