Expensive real estate, Havelock North, 2009

Expensive real estate, which symbolises the wealth of some sectors of Hawke’s Bay society, is found throughout the region, but some areas are made distinctive by a cluster of such properties. Havelock North is one of these places. The hills below Te Mata Peak are dotted with large, often architecturally designed houses, like the ones shown in this photograph.
