These orange roughy are the product of a primary industry, deep-sea fishing. They are being cleaned and gutted at this fish processing plant, a secondary industry, for sale in New Zealand, and for export. Processing of the products of primary industries such as farming, fishing and forestry makes up a large part of New Zealand’s secondary, or manufacturing, industry.
