Lions

Big cats, such as lions, tigers and cheetahs, feature in most large zoos. African lions breed easily, and to prevent cubs being born each year most zoo lions are neutered or put on contraceptives for much of their adult life. This female (left) and male (right) are in the Auckland Zoo.
