Hive inspection

Hive inspection

In 1991 the National Beekeepers Association assumed responsibility for contacting agencies to inspect for and control disease. About 10% of apiaries are inspected each year, especially for American foulbrood disease, and now for varroa bee mite. The Ministry for Agriculture and Forestry has a role in border protection and export certification.
