Conservation volunteers

These volunteers are planting trees near Lake Ngahewa, to provide hosts for a threatened mistletoe (Peraxilla tetrapetala). A few mistletoes survive on the old trees, which have been banded to prevent possums from climbing them and eating the mistletoes.
