Silver pine

Silver pine

Usually found on infertile, swampy land, silver pine grows into a small to medium-sized tree. It resembles kahikatea, although it never attains kahikatea’s height, and its yellow-green foliage is distinct from kahikatea's bright green or blue-green leaves. Silver pine is one of the few conifers that reproduces from underground suckers. It is the sole representative of its genus, Manoao.
