Beeveria is a moss genus confined to New Zealand. Its leaves are flattened into one plane. The tip of its stem often supports a ball of filaments. Each filament can grow into a new moss plant if it lands in a moist, shady place. The genus is named in honour of Jessica Beever, a New Zealand bryologist (someone who studies liverworts and mosses).
