Broadsheet, October 1982

Broadsheet was a monthly feminist periodical which was edited by a women's collective, including Sandra Coney, in Auckland. From 1972 until 1997 it provided a forum for lively discussion of women's issues from a feminist and socially aware perspective. The cover of the October 1982 issue featured two Māori activists, Donna Awatere (left) and Ripeka Evans. Awatere would later expand her initial discussion of Māori sovereignty in the magazine into a full analysis which was subsequently published as a book.
