Cover of No ordinary sun by Hone Tuwhare

No ordinary sun was Hone Tuwhare's first book of poems. It was first published by the Hamilton booksellers and publishers Blackwood and Janet Paul in 1964. The Pauls made a significant impact during the 1950s and 1960s with their commitment to New Zealand writing. At the time, Tuwhare was a boilermaker and on occasion during a tea break he would dictate new poems down the telephone to Janet Paul. This cover is from the 1964 edition of the book.
