Waikato Draught bottle cap

Waikato Draught bottle cap

The Waikato Brewery at the south end of Victoria Street once produced the local beer, Waikato Draught. This bottle cap bears the well-known brand of Willie the waiter. The drawing of Willie was based on a popular brewery employee, William T. Walter, who had distinctive features, including a prominent nose.
