Down under the plum trees

Teenagers have always wanted to find out more about sexuality, but for a long time it was difficult for them to access what they wanted to know. Down under the plum trees was published in 1972. It included information for New Zealand teenagers on a range of sexual activities and relationships – as well as issues relating to the use of alcohol and other drugs. It circulated widely among adolescents and generated debate in the media about its effects on teenage sexual behaviour.
