Story: Mail and couriers

Central Auckland post office (3rd of 3)

Central Auckland post office

Citizens eagerly open and read their mail as they leave the central Auckland post office in 1867. Inside the verandah are two counters labelled ‘A–L’ and ‘M–Z’, where people collect letters filed alphabetically by their surnames. To the right of the building are private boxes and community notices.
