Maungakiekie (One Tree Hill), Tāmaki-makau-rau

Maungakiekie (One Tree Hill) was an extensive , protected by excavated terraces with a number of areas reserved for kūmara gardens. The volcanic soil of Auckland was particularly well suited to Māori agriculture.
