Motatapu track

Motatapu track

Canadian country singer Shania Twain purchased the lease to over 20,000 hectares of land between Queenstown and Wānaka in 2004. In March 2008, fulfilling some of the lease terms, Twain opened the three-day Motatapu track, which runs across station land from Macetown, and upriver from Arrowtown to the Motatapu valley above Glendhu Bay. An annual off-road marathon has been run for some years on another route through Motatapu and other high country stations.
