In the 1960s aviator Tim Wallis pioneered live deer capture from helicopters. His innovative techniques were instrumental in the development of deer farming in New Zealand, and he was dubbed ‘Lord of the choppers.’ Wallis later established the spectacular biennial air show Warbirds over Wānaka.
