This television news clip describes an occupation by members of Ngāti Hei of part of their tribal territory at Whenuakite, Coromandel. The disputed land belonged to the state-owned Landcorp, which planned to sell it. After this protest by the local iwi, Labour's State-Owned Enterprises Minister Trevor Mallard promised to implement a new review process before 'sensitive' areas of Crown-owned land were sold.
