Some of Ngāti Maniapoto’s most renowned ancestors are represented on two carved pou (poles) on Ōtorohanga’s main street, Maniapoto Street, which is also State Highway 3. Maniapoto himself is at top left, above Taonui, Te Wētini and Wahanui. On the pou alongside are (from top to bottom) Tūhoro, Te Kanawa, Te Hauāuru and Te Haupōkia.
