Ballins Breweries

Ballins Breweries

This rather odd poster, featuring a pixie dressed in a furry outfit squeezing raspberries into a glass, probably dates from the 1950s. Ballins was an old Christchurch aerated-water manufacturer established by Bernhard Ballin in Byron Street in 1878. Small aerated water companies and cordial manufacturers were typically bought by larger companies, or merged with others. In 1975 Ballins merged with Coca-Cola and Schweppes.
