Story: Football

Mixed junior football

A teenage girl in football uniform with a black and white football at her feet, being chased by two teenage boys in a different football uniform during a football game.

‘Don’t be scared, they’re only boys’, was the advice given to the Wainuiomata Devils girls 11th grade team before this match at Te Whiti Park, Lower Hutt in May 1980. The Devils had entered the boys’ competition because their Hutt Valley under-14 grade had attracted only three teams.
