Story: Popular music

Mammal, 1973 (2nd of 2)

Mammal, 1973

Mammal was an underground, experimental rock group of the early 1970s. The group was predominantly a live act and left few recordings. They toured the country in a psychedelically painted van and mainly played on university campuses, before an audience of students open to their combination of acid rock and soul. This is Mammal on stage in 1973 – from left, Tony Backhouse, Julie Needham, Kerry Jacobson, Robert Taylor and Rick Bryant.
