In the rush to invest in the share market in the mid-1980s, new forms of brokerage emerged, including ‘no frills’ brokers. One of these was Bill Garlick’s Access Brokerage, which allowed investors to purchase shares with cut-price fees. This is the invitation to the opening of the firm’s new Auckland office in August 1994.
