The State Services Commission (now the Public Servic Commission), commissioned a number of major whakairo for its offices in Wellington’s Molesworth Street. This 2011 photo shows a pare, lintel and doorframe carved by Rangi Hetet of Ngāti Maniapoto for the entrance to the boardroom and meeting rooms,. Artworks of this kind were markers of a growing commitment to biculturalism within New Zealand’s state sector.
