Mitre Peak (2nd of 3)

Mitre Peak

Mitre Peak, at the head of Milford Sound in Fiordland National Park, is one of New Zealand’s most famous tourist attractions. Named because it is shaped like a bishop’s mitre (head-dress), it rises almost sheer above the sound to a height of 1,695 metres.
